doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done."

AUBURN UNIVERSITY
ePORTFOLIO AMBASSADOR
I was introduced to ePortfolios during an Informational Technology class when I was tasked with completing one for an assignment. Given specific guidelines by the professor, I quickly assembled artifacts, attached brief descriptions, and before I knew it, I had created my first ePortfolio. This assignment sparked my interest in online media and inspired me to become an ePortfolio ambassador for Auburn University.
The ePortfolio Project at Auburn University is brand new, and as an ambassador, I both promoted the project and helped other students create their own websites. Because the ePortfolio Project was in its beginning stages, we had a tremendous opportunity to develop the framework and structure for a university-wide ePortfolio initiative.
Throughout my ambassador training, I learned to relate different experiences and reflect upon my learning. The most beneficial part of the ePortfolio process for me was seeing how all of my experiences combine to make me the person that I am. The ePortfolio Project as well as my personal ePortfolio are ongoing and evolve as I grow in my career and as a leader. To visualize the process and its evolution, check out my first ePortfolio by clicking this link.
As a result of my work with the ePortfolio Project, I saw a tremendous improvement to my writing, public speaking, communication, and technological skills. It is for this reason that I become even more passionate about the project and its mission. Giving back to Auburn University through the avenue of teaching a practical use of technology is something that I truly enjoyed.
